New England SERVE is an independent health policy research and consulting organization, with a focus on children with special health care needs.
Systems for delivering and financing care are often fragmented and complex. To improve these systems, New England SERVE promotes:

- Consumer Roles in Health Policy-Making
- Care Coordination

Established in 1983, New England SERVE has maintained a primary focus on creating collaboration among professionals in all types of health care settings and the families they serve.
New England SERVE furthered this commitment in 1999 by establishing the Massachusetts Consortium for Children with Special Health Care Needs, and again in 2006 with the demonstration and documentation of the Family-Professional Partners Institute.

Primary funding comes from grants of the federal Maternal & Child Health Bureau, state health departments, and private foundations and donors.
Additional funding is generated by the consultation services we provide to health plans, state agencies, and other clients.
Third Sector New England, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, provides New England SERVE with grants management, fiscal accounting, and other administrative services.
