FAMILY PARTNERS INITIATIVE

Preliminary Planning Activities, 2002-2004

The Family Participation Work Group (FPWG) conducted two years of planning, research and assessment before launching the Family Partners Initiative pilot.

It surveyed parent leadership groups across the state, and solicited health care organizations for input about their experiences and interest in family partnerships.

In 2004, the FPWG hosted the final Consortium meeting of the year. Presenters introduced a variety of existing partnerships between family members and health care organizations. The Resource Fair that followed gave attendees an opportunity to learn about the breadth and depth of family organizations in the state.
